About Sri Lanka

Translated from Sanskrit it means “resplendent land” and the Czech travellers Hanzelka and Zikmund called it the “Paradise without Angels”. One has to agree. In Sri Lanka you will meet amiable and kind people with an open heart. Travellers will find countless beauties and marvels there, such as long empty beaches, mountains covered with rain forests, fascinating fauna and flora, and a rich historical and cultural past stretching 2500 years.

Sri Lanka is an insular state situated in the Indian Ocean, about 60 km away from the coast of India. It has an area of 65,610 sq. km; from north to south it measures 353 km and from the eastern to the western coast it measures 183 km.

A tourist visa is granted to Czech citizens free of charge upon their arrival to Sri Lanka. A visa is usually issued for a single-entry visit lasting 30 days.
